Succulent salmon blackened with a blend of herbs and spices.
If your fish needs a boost of the flavour, this is the recipe for you. Blackened Salmon is a delicious and flavourful way to enjoy a piece of salmon. (Or any fish!) Unlike some blackened recipes, this one is not too hot, but it definitely has a kick. It’s just a little kick though.
Blackened Salmon combines paprika, garlic, onion, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne. If you love hot, hot, hot, you may want to increase the cayenne from 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon. Or if you really crave heat, increase it to 1 teaspoon. Now that’s HOT!
Baked in the oven, this salmon can be ready in under 20 minutes. Blackened Salmon is full of flavour and it is so simple to make. Simply combine the spices, sprinkle them on the salmon, and bake it in the oven. In about 10 minutes, you’ll have a flavourful salmon that’s bound to impress.
I like to serve Blackened Salmon with lightly spiced broccoli, like Roasted Garlic Broccoli (recipe coming soon) and a wedge of lemon. In the picture above, you can see the sheen on the fish from a light drizzle of lemon juice. Lemon helps to cut some of the spice, while adding another dimension of flavour. Blackened Salmon is amazing with or without the lemon.
If you have any left over, Blackened Salmon is delicious the next day. Enjoy it hot or cold. Serve it on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, or any which way. Blackened Salmon is simply wonderful.
