A lightly creamy salmon spread filled with celery, herbs and spice.
I am a sucker for dips, spreads, and any party type food. It just screams fun! While I haven’t been throwing a lot of parties lately, the atmosphere in our house has been a little heightened.
With the Blue Jays in the playoffs, you can just feel a buzz in the air. My husband loves, I mean LOVES baseball. He even wanted to name our daughter Alomar, after his favourite player, Roberto Alomar. Call me cooky, but I wasn’t willing to give into that.
As you can see, I am living with a BIG sports fan. After 10 years together, I may not be bleeding baseball, but I do enjoy the fun finger/party food. (I am a total foodie after all.)
Skinny Salmon Spread may not be the archetypal sport food fare – it’s low fat and it’s not fried. Since it’s a dip/spread, it screams party fare to me. Sporting events are just an excuse for a party. Right? (Don’t tell my husband I said that.)
Salmon spreads typically include a lot of cream cheese. This recipe cuts the cream cheese in half, replacing it with fat free Greek yogurt. The remaining cream cheese is low fat. Skinny Salmon Spread is still creamy, flavourful, and delicious.
The combination of salmon, yogurt, cream cheese, celery, lemon, dill, garlic, onion, and parsley create a subtle, tasty spread. The more I eat Skinny Salmon Spread, the more I just love it.
