Lightly sweetened cantaloupe and blueberries salad served with a lime and maple syrup dressing.
After a long winter filled with warm, comfort food, there’s nothing I want more than fresh fruit. With a naturally-sweetened fruity flavour, Blueberry Cantaloupe Salad is the perfect springtime treat.
Blueberry Cantaloupe Salad dressing amps up the flavours of the fruit. The simple combination of lime, maple syrup, fresh mint and cinnamon creates a delicious and healthy dessert. Lime helps to increase the natural fruity flavour and maple syrup amplifies the fruits’ sweetness. Mint gives the salad a refreshing flavour. While cinnamon rounds out the salad’s yumminess.
Melon balls not only look beautiful, they’re delicious. They’re a feast for the eyes and for the mouth. Each beautifully uniformed bite bursts with the sweetest part of the melon.
If you don’t have a melon baller, you can still make this recipe. You can use a cookie scoop or a rounded measuring spoon to form these fruity balls. Cookie scoops are actually great for making melon balls. The spring load action releases them so easily.
To make a perfect melon ball, first cut the cantaloupe in half and remove the seeds. Press the melon baller (or similar tool) fully into the cantaloupe’s flesh. Rotate the baller 180 degrees and you should have a perfectly formed melon ball in your spoon.
If you end up with some irregular chunks, try again. This time, press the melon baller more firmly into the fruit. With a small amount of pressure and a simple twist of the wrist, you can enjoy some delicious cantaloupe balls.
When you’re all done, keep the remaining cantaloupe rind. It’s the perfect serving bowl for a Blueberry Cantaloupe Salad.
