10 Minute Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil for 2 to 5 minutes, or until tender.
  2. Stir in remaining marinara sauce ingredients. Simmer for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. With an immersion blender, carefully puree pasta sauce.
  4. If you want a thicker sauce, stir in corn starch. Wait for 1 to 2 minutes for sauce to thicken.
  5. Plate with cooked pasta. Enjoy!
