Chocolate Chip Banana Mug Cake

Sweet vanilla banana cake and warm chocolate chips are one yummy combination. And when it tastes like a slice of banana bread, there’s nothing like it.

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons banana, mashed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons low-fat sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips


  1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine flour, sugar, banana, sour cream, baking powder, and vanilla.
  2. Mix in chocolate chips.
  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Continue to cook for 10-second intervals until the cake is firm on top and a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Let cool for a few minutes before eating.
  5. Enjoy!


Mash the banana first before measuring the 2 and 1/2 tablespoons, it helps keep the batter even. You want to mash the banana until there are virtually no chunks.
