Unlike some other blackened recipes, Healthy Blackened Salmon is not too hot, but it definitely has a kick. Just not too spicy that it will leave you running for a glass of water.
Flavorful Fish with a Tasty Blackened Spice Rub
When you want to add some instant healthy flavour, a dry rub does the trick. Whether you are adding a sweet, or in this case, lightly spicy flavour, a rub can do it all. Healthy Blackened Salmon is covered with a mixture of paprika, garlic, onion, parsley, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne.

If you love hot, hot, hot, you may want to increase the cayenne from 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon. Or if you really crave heat, increase it to 1 teaspoon. Now that’s HOT!
When your spice rub is mixed, it’s ready for the salmon. Simply spoon the rub mixture onto the salmon and let the spices work their magic. After 10 minutes in the oven, you’ll have a flavourful salmon that’s bound to impress. Healthy Blackened Salmon is tender, flaky and covered with a bold flavour that’s truly irresistible.
If you are sensitive to spice, a little bit of lemon can help to cut some of the spiciness, while leaving the savoury flavour. Healthy Blackened Salmon is amazing with or without the lemon.

If you have any leftover, Healthy Blackened Salmon is delicious the next day. Enjoy it hot or cold. Serve it on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, with a side of rice, or any which way. Healthy Blackened Salmon is always tasty!
