That was always my pet peeve growing up. My mom loved throwing dinner parties and having family and friends over for meals, but she never seemed to sit down and enjoy it. By the time all the food was on the table, she was clearing it away. I always felt like she missed the meal, even if she insisted that she enjoyed it.

How to Make Honey Mustard Salmon
This tasty baked salmon dish is as easy as it is delicious. And it’s made in only 4 simple steps. You have to love a quick, easy and always tasty dish!
STEP 1: PREHEAT OVEN TO 425°F (230°C)
If you don’t usually bake salmon at 425°F, you are going to love it. When your meal cooks at a higher temperature it keeps the fish moist, while getting it to your table faster.
That’s a definite win-win!
STEP 2: MAKE THE Honey Mustard Sauce
It takes only 5 ingredients to make the sauce that perfectly covers the salmon fillet. It adds flavor and helps to keep the fillet flavorful and delicious.
So, let’s get started. In a small bowl, combine honey, Dijon mustard, lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and salt to make honey mustard sauce. And that’s it. Simple and delicious. Don’t you just love when things are simple and wonderfully tasty.
Whether you use lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, Honey Mustard Salmon is full of flavor. Both ingredients add the perfect kick of zesty flavor. So, if you have fresh lemon juice, use some of that. Or, if you have apple cider vinegar (which has a longer shelf life) pour a little of that. Honey Mustard Salmon is always tasty.
STEP 3: COVER SALMON WITH THE Sauce
Before popping it in the oven, place salmon fillets on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Spoon honey mustard sauce evenly over salmon, covering top and sides.
Step 4: Bake
Now comes the easy part. Bake salmon for 10 to 12 minutes or until it flakes easily with a fork. Cook until an internal temperature of 158°F (70°C).
Before you know it, dinner is done and your Honey Mustard Salmon is ready to eat and enjoy. Whether you enjoy it with roasted vegetables, potatoes, corn, salad, or rice, this dish is sure to impress.
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN THE FISH IS READY TO EAT?
When your Honey Mustard Salmon is ready, it will flake easily with a fork. And you can tell by the color of the fish.
You can also check this without cutting into the fish. To do this, gently press down on the top of the fillet. If the salmon flakes and separates along the white lines within the fillet (strips of fish fat), it’s finished cooking.
If you are using a meat thermometer, just poke the skinny metal rod into the thickest part of the fish. But, when it comes to cooking fish, there are a lot of different recommendations on its temperature. The Government of Canada recommends cooking fish to an internal temperature of 158°F (70°C). The USDA recommends cooking fish to an internal temperature of 145°F (62.8°C).
When it comes to taste, some people find that when fish is cooked to this temperature it tastes overcooked or well done. This is because when you remove the fish from the oven, the internal temperature continues to rise, which can result in overcooked fish. You can help to avoid this by waiting five minutes after removing the fish from oven to check its temperature. And then you can be sure to have a piece of delicious fish.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH Honey Mustard SALMON?
Salmon is such a versatile dish. You can serve it with veggies, salad, corn, potatoes, or rice. You really can’t go wrong. And you can double up the honey mustard sauce and serve with it tasty roasted potatoes. Potatoes are seriously yummy when baked with this sauce. And you can all bake at 425°F (230°C).
First add the mini potatoes and cook them on a parchment covered baking sheet for 20 minutes. Flip the potatoes. Then add the Honey Mustard Salmon and cook it and the potatoes for another 10 minutes.
Now dinner is ready and everyone can enjoy!! Yummy!
