Naturally given its green colour from mashed avocados, Mint Chocolate Chip Mug Cake is a sweet, vitamin-packed, single-serving dessert. In less than 5 minutes, you can dig into this light, mint-flavoured, chocolate chip cake. Enjoy this family friendly green treat!

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons avocado, mashed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Using a microwave safe, 8-ounce mug, add flour, sugar, avocado, milk, baking powder, mint and vanilla. Mix with a fork or a small whisk.
  2. Add chocolate chips and mix to combine.
  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Continue to cook for 10-second intervals until the cake is firm on top and a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Let cool for a few minutes before eating.
  5. Enjoy!


Mash the avocado until there are virtually no chunks. Then measure the 2 and 1/2 tablespoons. This is the most accurate way to measure a puréed fruit.
