Ingredients

  • Terra cotta planter
  • Five acrylic paint colors (4 complimentary colors and white)
  • Sponge brush
  • Plastic bowl
  • Wax paper

Instructions

  1. Soak the terra cotta planters in warm water for 1 hour. Brush away any debris.
  2. Place planters on wax paper.
  3. Add some white paint to a plastic bowl. Thin the paint with a little water. Mix until well combined with a sponge brush.
  4. Evenly apply the first coat of paint. When it’s dry, apply the remaining coats of paint.
  5. Add paint colour to a plastic bowl. Using your finger, place dots of paint onto the planter. Alternate colours and evenly place dots.
  6. Slowly swirl the colours around the base. Twist and turn vase. Add more colours as needed.
  7. Let planter completely dry.
  8. Spray with a clear, water-resistant finish.
  9. When dry, add a potted plant
  10. Display the finished vase or gift it to someone you love!
