1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (12 ounce) package pasta
1/4 cup onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon corn starch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
1/4 teaspoon brown sugar
Cook pasta according to package directions. Set aside.
In a large saucepan, over medium heat sauté onions in olive oil for 1 minute.
Stir in oregano, basil, sugar, and salt, 2 to 3 minutes, or until brown. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute.
Stir in tomatoes. Heat to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Cook uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
With an immersion blender, carefully puree pasta sauce.
Stir in corn starch. Wait for 1 to 2 minutes for sauce to thicken.
