I have always love dips. A delicious dip with crackers, bread or pita and side of salad is a perfect lunch. I could eat it every day, seriously! When it comes to dips, a lot of them are packed with oil, which can be delicious, but it can make a dip a little fattier and a little less healthy.

Skinny Homemade Hummus is packed with everything you’ll love – sauteed garlic, lemon, parsley, and sesame seeds. But, there’s no oil, which means there’s no added fat. Instead of using oil, Skinny Homemade Hummus is made with milk. But it definitely doesn’t taste milky.

Milk keeps hummus creamy, without making it fattening. You’ll enjoy the rich flavour and consistency, but you won’t even taste the milk. Skinny Homemade Hummus simply tastes like a creamy, garlicky and nutty dip.

Enjoy Healthy Chickpeas in Every Bite

Chickpeas are super healthy. They’re high in protein, fiber, calcium, and copper, which helps keep your hair and skin healthy and beautiful.

In many hummus recipes, like the ones found in stores, hummus is loaded with oil. Healthy chickpeas are then pureed into a much more fattening dish. It doesn’t have to be that way.

That’s the best thing about homemade dips. You can make them as healthy and tasty as you want. Your tastebuds will thank you. Skinny Homemade Hummus has all the flavour of traditional hummus recipes, but with less fat.

How to Make Skinny Homemade Hummus

You’ll love how easy it is to make this healthy dip that is creamy and tasty too. Skinny Homemade Hummus begins with sauteeing garlic and sesame seeds in a dry non-stick skillet. Dry refers to no added oil. But feel free to customize it for yourself.

Sauteeing the sesame seeds and the garlic, gives them a toasted, more nutty flavour, which you’ll love. The nutty flavour really enhances the overall hummus and it works perfectly for chunkier textured dip. If you prefer a smoother hummus, puree the sesame seeds to a smooth, paste-like consistency before adding the chickpeas and the remaining ingredients.

In a food processor, puree sesame seeds with lemon juice and garlic. Then add milk, parsley, salt, and paprika. Make the dip as smooth or chunky as you like. If the hummus is too thick, simply add some water.

Make a Little Extra

Sometimes I like to double a batch. This is the perfect recipe to do that. If you have any leftovers, that’s never a problem. This homemade hummus will taste great for days.

Plus, since it’s made without oil, it won’t separate in the fridge. It will continue tasting and looking perfect for several days.

You can enjoy this hummus with crackers, your favourite veggie, or even on toast. However you eat it, Skinny Homemade Hummus is a tasty addition to any meal or snack.
